As the name suggests, the design is open to your interpretation. I imagined it as a golden orb that splits in two, with a diamond on one side and a peridot on the other. For me, the egg is a symbol of new beginnings, hope, and my own fertility journey. The seed represents growth, creativity, and the planting and nurturing of flowers, plants, and food—bringing things to life! When I asked friends what they thought it was, many of them said an avocado. I thought that was funny and very Australian in a way, so it had to go in the title!

You can imbue your own meaning and style through customisation of gold colour and gemstones. I see family heirlooms with birthstones of partners or kids—or something we often create is commemorations of loss, such as a miscarriage or a loved one. You could also split it and gift half to someone else—a partner, sibling, friend, or your kids—’90s friendship necklace style!

Movement, play, and rethinking traditional ideas of jewellery and gem setting are pillars of my design process. So I’ve designed it meticulously: at first glance, you see this intriguing, minimal shape, and as you move, you get these little moments where the orb splits and reveals flashes of light and gemstone colour—people will notice and want to look closer with curiosity.
